Die Verscchmutzung der Gewässeer ist schon viel zu weit vortgeschritten, auch hier bei uns. Da aber die Flüsse fast alle in die Meere fliessen, sammelt es sich dann dort an. Es gibt einige Versuche die Meere von Müll, vorwiegend Plastikmüll zu befreien, doch nicht alle sind wirklcih gut, manche sogar schädlich.
Das grösste Problem dabei ist, dass der meiste Müll nicht an der Oberfläche schwimmt, sondern sinkt oder Microplastik vom Winde weggetragen wird. So wurden Teie am tiefsten Ort des Meeres, aber auch im Eis der Poole gefunden, wo ja eigendlich niemand lebt.
Wenn man den Müll schon aus den Flüssen holen kann, fliesst dieser gar nicht mehr in die Meere, wo der grösste Teil schnell sinkt.

The 4ocean Harbor Skimmer
This 450 gallon unit acts like a pool skimmer for the ocean, collecting floating surface debris and plastic. The machine runs 24 hours a day and is serviced in hourly shifts by trained employees to monitor any marine life that finds its way into the machine. The intake of the Harbor Skimmer is slow and calm which will keep the environment safe for any animals that swim into the machine opening until a service person can release the creature back into the open ocean.
